2 Coinstars with nothing but air today.

And I got to one just as someone was printing their receipt, so who knows what I may have missed.

2 coinstars, first one was dry and there was 11 cents in front of it. I was going to pick it up but some old woman who was grabbing her lotto tickets picked them up. I think it was a 2015 cent and a 90's-00's dime.

2nd one (at Walmart, been finding more stuff here lately) had a 1973 1/2 penny in front of the machine. There was a little kid putting his hand in the machine and stuff, surprised he didn't find it but it was on the floor, haha.

Yesterday I was @ Walmart and found a 1981 canadian quarter, same coinstar. Finally finding stuff at Walmart.

Why do I feel so awkward and embarrassed when I go to check the Coinstar machine? I bet I could find something. Coinstar and I pass each other like old lovers who just can't let anyone know there is/was something going on between them! I need to push past the shyness and get me some SILVER!! Ha!

i hear ya... I checked a coinstar for the first time ever yesterday. I pretended I was looking at strawberries while some guy was using it. My girl knew what I was up to so I told her I was looking at strawberries, she was like "yeh right".

When he was gone I swooped over, but the tray was empty. heehehehh

I once waited in line behind a pearson using coinstar. They had over $200 dollars in change so you know how long that took. There was nothing in the reject tray.

Another time I waited behind a guy for probably 13 minutes. He was nice and gave me his rejects. I told him that one of his dimes was silver and he said keep it.

I've taught this to my best friend, because him and I go looking for money at school and stuff and don't want to embarrass ourselves, but I created the "pretend-to-tie-shoe" method.

Bend over, pretend to adjust shoe, grab/check coin when no one is looking and then walk away like nothing ever happened.

It works 100% of the time.

Behind the tray?

Behind the red handle, yes. Stuff always gets up behind there, I've found countless quarters and coins behind it.
Also another one is in the tray itself. I always put my hand all around it. Sometimes I'll find some change here and there.

Someone left a Canadian dime and penny on the counter today. I guess that's better than nothing, but I have a feeling whoever was there took their usable rejects and left the rest on the counter after seeing they were foreign. But sadly, I never run into nice people who give me their rejects, if I ever get anything, it was left there by some careless person.
