Went looking for a Simpulum, to my surprise I have one maybe two...i'll post this one first.... Pontius Pilate ..Ae...Prutah... Year 16,,29/30.AD.. Ob. You can barely see the simpulum on the left, but its there:) Marcus Aurelius AR denarius. 140-144 AD. AVRELIVS CAESAR AVF P II F COS, bare head left PIETAS AVG, sacrificial implements: knife, sprinkler, ewer, lituus and simpulum. RIC III   |
