Nice low grade coin. Those old large coins are really durable, and were made to last.

I have yet to own a two headed coin. Maybe in the future?

I have seen a few of these Pius/Aurelius double headed coins and was tempted to get one (2 busts for the price of one!) Marcus Aurelius is pretty young though when these were made I was toying with the idea of buying a couple of coins with his older bust and his wife Faustina (Mainly because Marcus Aurelius has some interesting history)

Its an appealing coin for various reasons, size and weight being only two of them... a shame it isn't better preserved but interesting none-the-less.

Edit:Actually I realise that this coin is quite scarce...when I say I saw a few of them I am thinking of the denarius... maybe it would be an idea to get one to go with it since there seem to be affordable examples around with good details, it would make a nice pair.

Nice coin, I like the red patina. You might be able to remove the black deposits by soaking the coin in distilled water or olive oil for a while.

Is the color true? I like the red patina and I wonder if it is what is called "Syrian Red" named so from the red sands in the Syrian desert.

Careful! The Syrian red is very desirable patina.
