What coin grading company is the best to deal with? And how much does it cost?

The RFD coin forum has someone reporting that all of the $5 gold coins have been sold. That they have been oversold and some orders need to be cancelled.

Those on the fence should consider jumping now and see if you order goes through.

Just checked, the 1913 and 1914 $5 are still available online.

Hard to believe in "oversold" situation.
Did you faced ever with this for RCM orders?

I just got off the phone with the mint. The coins are not oversold.

Valid point.

I just hope that "not serialized" does mean that it present in the package.

If I remember properly, the 1989 Proof SML also have COA without serial number.

Well, its reasonable.

@Jemrry_B.... I must be blinded, it's right there on the webpage and I missed it. Thanks so much.

It make sense to have a COA, people need that to tell the difference between premium and non-premium version.

Not so sure the COA will be different between the HS and Premium HS. Remember, those are not grades. They are simply the opinion of a mint employee. Of course, the packaging of the two types is different (clamshell vs. wooden case).

BTW, interesting post on the Mint's FB page today.

"These gold coins are available from the Royal Canadian Mint, and select Canadian dealers only (they are not available through Canada Post)."

Anyone know which dealers have these coins? Or is this a hint that Bromberg will have them on the shopping channel soon.

The boxes are different, too. One purple maple, the other black plastic. But I don't think that matter very much. One could always replace the mint-selected coin with a raw one, perhaps with a lower grade, and put it on the bay...

I know I know, but at least it should tell people how much we paid for the coin, not grade, but price.. premium (price) or non-premium.

This is why I ordered the non-premium. Since the coins will not come with an actual grade, I'm hoping the mint employees will base their decision on "shiny" rather than actual quality :P

Completely irrelevant. When it comes time to sell, the coin will either be superb and have numismatic value, or it will be bullion. The package and COA really won't matter...
