It is an unusual thing with the NPA folders, I have collected some, because they are strict UNC notes, but some of those years do command a lower UNC value because the NPA folders are lower serials & also because there are more "known & kept" UNC notes. On the other side of things, there are years where the NPA released folders which had black serial notes which weren't actually circulation note (i.e; 1999 only $50's & $100's were released in circulation yet the NPA folders had $5,$10,$20,$50 & $100 with red or black serials...ideally it does mean that there are extremely low numbers of 1999 $5,$10 & $20 notes, but they're all in UNC condition & not part of normal circulation.) Some people only collect circulation notes. I think it's these people that truely pride themselves on a low serial, becuase it hasn't come from a folder & that it's occured simply by the luck of the draw. I don't have time right now to list the years & denominations of the NPA folders, but if I get a chance sometime soon, I'll list them. I pride myself on the knowledge of notes. I have noticed that too. I think it is because they are considered to be NCLT. Some of them are easy to pick because they have date overprints or red serial numbers. But I think NPA realised this was making the notes less desirable so with the later ones the only way you can tell they are folder notes is the low serial number. I consider folder notes to be the bane of collecting 90s polymer. Report this Post to the Staff
