You are right JK about gold it is tough to make any on ebay and it has to move up SIGNIFICANTLY to say 1800 and up to get to the levels where one is making profits....

But again many buying on ebay ten fold when it does pass that point, when most of us would not be touching gold buys with a ten foot poll at those high levels....

I should also mention I avoid selling any gold like the plaque or any pmz for that matter, even though often I do sell silver on ebay and its margins are not as harsh as JKs solid scientific like examples, go fig a scientist thinking like scientist lol ;)....

HERE is a point many do not see however Jim or even consider or realize the situation comes up and I get these requests often....

Many times a piece is too high on ebay for the potential buyer and anymore the BUYER themselves will suggest a PayPal invoice verses to help seller sell them the item at more of a price that is beneficial for both, a way to get together and make the deal work and that 13% is often the one thing making the deal a NO go....

You can open case through PayPal just as ebay so many seem not to worry about being protected so to speak via ebay resolution center etc....

ALSO selling international gives you and ADVANTAGE as many will not trust me on this....

PLUS has anyone noticed there is a new service out of ERLANGER Kentucky which is an international shipping service as I am selling things left and right lately that I ship there with buyers name and a long reference number. THEN they send it on its way to wherever overseas....

basebal, it wasn't suppose to be taken literally, but to illustrate a point, so whatever.

I give up. You people can think whatever you want.

Silver what are the fees for that shipping hub? It sounds like the one ebay is trying to set up but I've never looked into the fees for it.

This is pretty much off topic but I just want to say this;

Last year ebay started the Global Shipping Program (GSP) for US sellers which is optional for now. Instead of shipping directly to the buyer,
it goes to a US company like Pitney Bowes and then shipped to Canada. The problem is that it automatically adds IMPORT charges to the final price.
Its not that bad for more expensive items because it assures the buyer no additional taxes once it gets here but for smaller priced items like $20 or less,
its totally not worth it because Canadian import laws does not require collecting taxes for items at that price (even up to $60). The GSP program doesn't make that distinction
and so charges import fees on all items. I for one stopped purchasing low priced items from US sellers who adhered to this program and from reading different forums
most Canadians are up in arms about this and have also stopped buying from US sellers using the program

Interesting price action- gold and silver once again for a second time turn away from getting into the 4/15 gap.

This should not be viewed that there will be no further attempts at running into the gap. It also doesn't mean that they are going straight down again.

We;ll know more as each day passes by. However, the farther it gets away from this gap and less time it spends near it, the higher likely hood that the run is over.

Nevertheless, at this stage, its much too early to know for sure. I would think there has a ton of resistance price wise from that gap. That one will be a mother to fill.

Therefore, right here , right now, we can't really say what happens.

I am real concerned about this service as I never gave authorization on it, just all of a sudden I started having items going to Erlanger about 2 months back, and figured it out after the 3rd or so....

I had a guy buy a car on other side of world a couple weeks back and order form there, and asked me about track info today?

Sorry for jumpin off subject but Miggs and others are educated on this way more then I and I had no idea what to tell guy, other then my track cuts off once they get it...

What if items turns up lost, how is this gonna work?

No doubt responsibility falls on me as seller to get them the item, but totally lost on how I can do anything once they order through this service....

I was reading all the propaganda about why Gold has bottomed and is now on it's way to the moon, and then read Gero's statement.

He said, basically the same thing as some here have said, that every rally has been nothing more than a short covering rally, and that open interest is 20 percent lower right now than at the same time last year. That open interest is steadily decreasing. That there are no fundamentals to support the prices, ect.

Now, I'm scared. If Gero and I are in agreement. Then either common sense has reared it's ugly head. Or....Gero is trying to get people to short the market so he can go long and reap the beni's......

OH, my aching head......

Hawk, I'm worried about the ebay overseas program. I thought when I had to opt into it that it just added another layer of fees to the buyer and seller.

I'm not so stupid to think that ebay is doing this for free. You KNOW they have their finger in the pie somewhere.

I don't ship internationally; except on very very rare occasions. I do ship to Canada on lower end coins that just get shipped in a regular first class envelope. I have had auctions in the past where someone from Europe won, and then found out how much shipping was. And that was using the absolute cheapest I could find. It is often more than the cost of the item!

International shipping is rarely cost effective I found. I never opted into the ebay program though the potential was intriguing. I figure if someone from another country really wants something they can send me a message and ask

Back on subject looks like silver has leveled down dropping under $23.25 and I expect a retraction heading toward Christmas.....

The 64 thousand dollar question, this time does it hit its earlier lows this past early part of summer, or does it drop even lower....

I think around where it was is about bottom, as the reality of mining cost kicks in and becomes pointless of mining silver if it cost more to mine it then what it is worth....

Its only an average cost estimate. If it drops lower you go for the cheaper stuff and get more efficient. Production wont stop

Well, I just feel I need to jump in here for a bit. I've been reading and following people's opinions about why gold and silver did this and that, and I came to the conclusion that most of them are wrong in the long run and if one person makes enough predictions, one of them will eventually come true.

I see now that the price action makes the most sense and like Yup says, the market will eventually let us know what it's up to with patience. I'm going to go with what my gut tells me to as well. I mean, look at the crisis in Syria. If that had such a big impact on fear and commodities, why is silver going down?

I think breaking the $26 support level for silver could take oodles of time. And I wouldn't be surprised to see lower lows ($15-17) up to a year from now. I'll buy when I see lower prices or when the resistance level becomes the support level. That would tell me that higher prices are more likely.

The whole buy low, sell high doesn't make sense anymore. Like Yup says, when a trend change is more clear and one buys high (even at say $26+), even higher prices could be expected. And buying on the dips or on the way down is too risky. Although at sub-$20, I would consider buying numismatics at bargain prices.

Anyway, fear is about the worse thing one can experience, because that is a loss of control and means one could trade by emotion only, which could lead to many losses.

Ok, I'll get off my soapbox now and get back to the sidelines and watch and learn from the price action!

Objectively, I'm supporting the theory of a continued downtrend.

Personally I want prices lower. I'm going to a big coin show in October and want to fill in my Type set gold page.
