i would say you probably are pushing your luck . by going in and asking for pre-1968 coins. Just saying, you don't want to be burning any bridges this early in your searching career...

Quote: And a Dutch 10 Euro Coin. That's quite a find! ...unless you mean 10 Euro Cent. Still, gotta love Euros. I have been getting back into collecting them lately, now that there are so many newly added countries in the Eurozone.

I love getting the US and Euro coins in my CRH.. we went to France 6 months ago, and I dragged a bag of coins totalling 8 Euros over there (mostly 10, 5, 2, and 1 cent coins), and I'm collecting them again for our next trip. As for US coins, I've been aggressively doing dimes for about 4 months, pennies before that, and I have over $100 to be changed on our next Vegas trip (except for the AU grade 1964 dime that I'll keep) - nice to get $US at Canadian rates.. ;)

I stuck the motherlode again! At the same bank! I went and got 3 more boxes, they were consisted of Wheat penny rolls, indian head rolls, George V and George VI, Young Queen pre 1964 Mint AU uncirculated condition rolls, many 1967 mint rolls, and many sealed RBC and CIBC bank rolls from the 1960's. opened one roll, so far 1957 British 6 pence, 1944 far high British, lots of semi key dates for wheats but no key dates, George V common dates, practically piles of all the years of George VI, and many well worn teens and 1909 wheats, and some AU condition 1920's, 1940''s, 1950's, and 1960's

Other rolls were full of pure copper pennies of variety of years, I'm guessing either someone took grandfathers collection/hoard to the bank, or someone stopped coin roll hunting and decided to be rid of his collection.

Lucky find on the pennies. The banks around here won't let the pennies go. They say they MUST be returned. I don't know if they are afraid of getting in trouble, but oh well.
I found a Jamacian $10 coin in a roll of quarters once, that was neat.

I recently got a plastic wrapped roll of 2012 toonies, as well an entire box of 2012 nickels. I didn't open them but every coin on an end said 2012, so I guessed they were all the same. A couple days ago I read that there are companies that re-wrap but I don' think that was the case here. A full roll of 2010 Saskatchewan Rough Riders would be a cool find though. I haven't found one yet.

$80 in quarters today. The tellers saved me two silver dimes! Small-town banks are probably better for this Newfoundland quarter... these are getting much harder to find. Another ATB! Now I have 4 (three found in change, one dug up in a playground). And, a foreign coin! My happiest find of this lot. From Brazil... exchange value is about 25 cents.

What is the denomination with the most silver? What are the odds of finding silver in a dime box and a quarter box by the box?

I find 1 silver dime in maybe 3 boxes of $250. I usually find 1 roll of american dimes per box and 1 foreign coin. I usually find 1 1968 silver quarter after 2 to 3 boxes of $500 I find more than a roll of US coins in a box of quarters, half of them being State Quarters. I have not gotten many ATB ones at all. I will also find at least 1 foreign coin per box of quarters.

I finished a roll of dimes today. No silver, no foreign and only ¾ of a roll of American dimes.
