hi, I am wondering if anyone knows where I can find some detailed info on victorian large cent varieties, is there any places on the web besides the haxby 1859's site, I heard the 65th ed. charlton has a lot of varieties in it, is this true? if so I do not have a copy do you know where I might find one? or is there a better resource that I am not aware of? I have alot of large cents and I would like to see if I have any rare varieties. thanks for your help

Here are a few places that you can try:

http://www.victoriancent.com/books.html is Rob Turners site with some very advanced books on Victorian cents and a complete die/matrix catalog.

There is also http://www.pcfleet.com/book/en/details.htm The Book of Canadian Coins and Their Varieties by Charest which is a very complete Canadian variety catalog.

For the Charlton 65th they are great but in high demand and can be expensive.

Try Abebooks.com or ebay for that one. I have 2 I picked up when they came out and will likely never sell them...

Actually Amazon.ca has several for very cheap right now if you don't mind used...

i dont mind used ,is this one of the better resources for large cent varieties?

Yup! Those Charlton guides are the way to go for an in-hand reference guide.

Those ones on Amazon are at really good prices.

If I were you, I'd get one. I have one and it is an amazing resource.

yes I'm just looking at Amazon right now, was hoping they would take paypal as I dont really want to use a credit card
