Those early 1980's Zincolns are the worst. They had not perfected the process yet. I wish each zinc cent's value could be multiplied by the number of bubbles in the plating. They would make us rich.

Nice progress! It looks like you started carrying that one just about a year before I started my half- I began on November 22nd of last year.
I accidentally put my 1829 large cent through the wash today. It actually doesn't look any different except for some new wear on the high points- the rest of the patina is still intact.

Now that is a fine pocket piece. I used to keep an Ike in my pocket, but almost lost it a couple of times so he lives at home now.

I was inspired by this thread to start a new pocket piece, and as a student of history, I picked the 2014 Monuments Men 1.5" medal. I feel conflicted about it because it's such an awesome design, but it was only $7 and will serve as a constant reminder of the importance of preserving history and culture. Plus I'm interested in seeing how it will wear. I'll post monthly updates as the others do, so here it is fresh out of the packaging:

That medal should turn out well.
I'm considering adding a proof commemorative dollar to the mix. The 2000 Leif Ericson issue seems like the best choice, since it's a cool design and it's from my birth year.

I have my pocket pieces in my pocket 363 out of 365 days a year. If I realize I forgot them when I am in the garage I go back into the house and grab them before I leave for work. I forgot my stash yesterday and it was a bad / busy cyber Monday They have still siting on my computer desk where I forgot them for the last few days and again today I forgot to grab them and at work I stepped on a 3" staple that went through my shoe and into my toe And the only other coworker decided he could show up at noon instead of 9 because you can't get fired here. If I get to work tomorrow and realize I forgot my pocket pieces I am turning around and going home.

Ouch. Oh well, a couple days won't hurt in the long run.
