That's cool that even though the coin is worn you can see the progress through the plating wearing off.

Here is the latest state of my pocket. The Morgan and Canadian dollar have both been there since mid September, and the Walker was a coin machine find sometime in October. The Canadian dollar started out BU, and the Walker was about like it is, although it has shined up considerably. The Morgan was as below, with considerable luster under all that toning and gunk:

Nice, hcmusicguy! I've been wanting to add another. One reason is that I started with a coin that was already worn and I would like to see the progression from mint state. I was leaning toward a clad Ike or Kennedy proof, but a Canadian silver dollar might make for good variety. Hmmm...

Canadian silver dollars are a good choice. They are cheap and plentiful.

You guy's seem bent on wearing down Canadian dollars. If you must use one of ours, might I suggest one of the 1976 Montreal Olympic's coins. It's a different animal. Sterling silver, the dollar is 80%. 2 sizes, 38 and 45 mm dia. 2 denominations, 5 and 10 dollars. 0.72 and 1.44 oz. silver. A great selection of designs. An obverse that is unique for this purpose. And, you should be able to get one at spot! I just convinced myself to get one out and put it in my pocket. I will document it's progression for later.

Thanks for the suggestion, loonielewy! Quote: You guy's seem bent on wearing down Canadian dollars. Consider it a sign of respect. Plus, I'm already carrying a U.S. silver dollar, so it would even things out.

Here we go with day 1. I ended up having 3 of these, so I grabbed this one. Go big or go home, but it may prove to be a bit big. We'll see. This one was issued into circulation, so it was in pockets.

I like it! There are probably very few that worn down in the world.
