Hi all
Recently I have noticed quite a few 2014 £2 coins with extra metal on them or just poorly struck, I recently posted 1 with at least 8 extra " blobs ".
What has happened to QC at the mint ?
Today I got my first " Trinity house " £2 coin, I couldn't stop laughing when I looked at Elizabeth

She's got a Dew Drop !
Has anyone come across this variety yet or will it just be a random flaw ?
There is also doubling on her lip and nose with extra metal on top and back of her head and a very weak strike on her crown and hair.
Not bad for a modern coin.

Certainly looks like a die chip.

If you shoot a high-resolution photo and then crop out just the section with the artifact, you should be able to post a zoomed-in picture to the forum where we could see it better. From the small photo it does look like a chip.

Therein lies my problem, I havnt got the first idea how do any of what you suggested.
I only learnt how to shrink my pics when I joined this site.
Shame because there are so many flaws on this coin and also 2 errors on the edge which need to be shown.
Unfortunately I don't have the skills or equipment for close ups.
