I made a post the other day in the half dollar thread about how I was going to give a teller some medio balboas and british pennies, and he was gonna give me some bags to dump with. Well, when I got there, the bags were very small and just not what I needed, but I still gave him the coins anyway, he has held silver for me in the past. This whole trip delayed me about 30 minutes, and I was a little bummed.
I ended up getting to the wells fargo around 10am, and a woman was setting up her drawer. I was in the business line and teller in front of me was busy with a customer.
Regular line was left of me where this teller was. I kept looking at the coins in her tray and there were 2 large dollar coins, some halves, and some small dollar coins. I saw what looked like a 40% half, and in the large coins, I could not see copper in one of them. My eyes seemed to be playing tricks, but one looked silver.
She still was not open yet and the last regular customer went to a different teller. She moved the sign and I swooped right in.
"I see youve got some big coins there, can I buy those from you?" Sure she said
I got 2 large dollar coins, and 3 halves. One of the halves was a 40%.
One of the large dollars was a 1925
Peace dollar, and I saw it right at the start of the transaction. I was trying to play it cool, and things went smooth. The coin always stayed hid under the bicentennial Eisenhower that it was next to. I put it in my pocket and was so ecstatic on the inside, and then I proceeded to get some boxes of coins from the business account teller after that. My first silver dollar score from a teller since 2014, and also another 1925!
If I hadnt been delayed in my coin for bag trade gone south, I would never had been at this bank to catch this teller opening up! All of a sudden I didnt worry much about having those bags that I never got. But I will have to worry about it soon.
That is 2 teller silver dollar scores, when will the next one happen?
