Just registered, been watching this thread closely. Ike's are my favorite coins, and I especially like getting them from banks for face. So far, ive picked up about 400 or so Ikes from banks in my area. My finds are:

1972 type 2 Ike
Multiple type 1 1976 Ikes
Many AU/BU Ikes
Friendly eagle variety Ike

I do keep all the Ikes I get other than the ones that are damaged or in extremely poor conditions, which means usually almost all of them I keep. Will post some pics of my finds a bit later.

Yesterday, I was finally able to get my bank to order me some ikes. They will be here on Wednesday! They said they can order only 100 at a time though.

Domain555 - thanks. I will definitely order them as much as I can. I have asked all the banks in my town and in the neighboring towns and counties, and this is the only one that said they can get ikes. Fingers crossed that ikes do arrive on Wednesday.

What are the premiums on these varieties? Are there specific years for say peg legs or are all years succeptible to the deterioration(?) that leads to that effect on the R?

As far as I know thee is no realistic-standard "PRICE" for the individual coins

In the past I have bought a (very) few coins off of ebay, that I paid a small premium.

I just bid what my personal budget is

When I did sell a (very) few IKEs on ebay, I set a "floor" as a starting price ~~ then just let it rip

coin 197 - yeah hopefully they arrive today. I will be picking them up later today. I do keep almost all ikes; only deposit the ones that are in very poor condition or are damaged.

Dual brain - nice. I use the ike group website. They have some pretty good info on peg legs and varieties etc. http://www.ikegroup.info/?page_id=23

Oh yeah, great bank you have!

Going to the bank friday (I think) they usually have a pile of 40-50!

I went to my LCS and found this:

Peg leg!

Just finished up going through the Ikes. I found 2 1976 Type 1 and 2 possible peg legs. Can anyone confirm whether they are indeed peg legs? There were also a bunch of AU-BU Ikes. No 1972 type 2, 1973, s mints, lowballs, or FEV. Will be stopping back at my bank later today to see if they could place another $100 Ike order.
