Quote: Is Superior Grading even around any more? I haven't used Superior in two years now, but still consider them a viable alternative to PMG and PCGS. Because of parameters set down by ebay, Heritage and others, it's still a 2nd tier TPG. The website is still active http://www.superior-grading.com/

That wax seal makes it look like it's from the 1790s.

Received this in change. I'm guessing they didn't have a green ink pen.

In lieu of all the turmoil currently happening over at PCGS-Currency and Collectors Universe, I'm posting what I believe to be the perfect paper money third party grading brand name - Generic Currency Grading Service. I bought this maybe 10 years ago and haven't seen another since.

At this point of my life, just starting to collect star notes, I'm kicking myself. Been in banking for 17 years and started out as a teller, why oh why did I not start 17 years ago. Just imagine what I missed!

If you only belong to this PM forum you might be out of the loop. It's been discussed for days on other forums.

Thanks Steve. I guess that is why there was some speculation in this thread http://goccf.com/t/338412 a couple of weeks ago about PCGS Gold Shield currency and PCGS Currency merging. I see that Jason Bradford is indicating that he's working on something to provide continuity and continue his grading service now that he no longer has the PCGS name licensed from CU. IMHO this will just cement PMGs position in the currency grading business.

Got this at the bank today. Got the awesome feeling I'm going to start getting more star notes. I thank the teller for the star note and she said where and I when I showed her she said she never noticed but she would keep an eye out for them for me.
