I just went through 5 rolls (not as prolific as many of you) and I found 1938 and a 1946 - but neither filled a hole for me. I also found a Canadian 1968 nickel and a 2002 10 pesos coin from Chile - neither of which I had, so pretty good for five rolls.

So I have jumped in and purchased my first box. No silver, but I feel pretty good about the pre-60's coins I got. As follows:

1940
1941 x2
1941-d
1942
1947 x2
1948
1949
1953 x2
1953-d
1954 x2
1954-d x2
1955 (in high quality condition so good get)
1957-d x3
1958
1958-d x2
1959-d

Also one 1999-d with an off center error. My first error coin!

Really enjoyed the nickels and will pick up another box. Have a lot of holes to fill so much to look for.

Not too shabby dmagku! Just so you know, I didn't get my first 1955 nickel until my 67th box, so that's not a super easy find you have there.

dmagku, your off center might be a misaligned die, which were common in the late 90's. post a picture if you can, we'd love to see it!

this is weird, I found a 1950-P tonight too. haven't found one in 50 boxes.

And I found this! I've been searching for this one for about 40 boxes since I heard of it. This reverse took a big hit, but the internal die break is identical.

I actually was going to change that. In the time since my last update on here I have pretty much concluded the 1953 to not be a Henning. The 1939 was a definite Henning. Next post I will change the Henning nickels from 2 to 1. As far as recognizing them, the easiest way is to look at the bottom left leg of the letter R in PLURIBUS. If there is a hole in the leg of the letter you have a Henning. But that being said, not all Hennings have this feature. But most do. If you have a 1944 with no mintmark over the dome on the reverse you have a Henning. If the coin is 10% overweight (5.5 grams instead of 5.0) you more than likely have a Henning.

I just edited the number of Hennings on my list down to one. Nice find on the 1945P, msteele! Easiest way to find silver in circulation, IMO.
