The inscription would appear to be an Alexander coin. I've been searching like crazy. The only coins with Athena and Nike are gold. Has anyone seen a silver coin with this design? Thanks for your help.

This coin was struck in gold for Alexander III and Philip III. I have not been able to find this type struck in silver.

So what do you think? Ancient fake? New fake? Try to return it? Or one of a kind once in a lifetime find that just made me a million? (Please say the last one :))

I recently saw The gold version of this, and was wondering if anyone knows how to authenticate it.
I should be able to get it for $1800. But I am concerned that it is not real. What steps can I take to ensure that I don't get burned?
Also, does $1800 seem like a good price provided that the condition is good

That would make it a drachm, But I don't know of any drachms in this style. I'd say a modern fake.

Thank you. It shouldn't be a problem. I have purchased a bunch of coins from him that I've show to the forum and or two different coins stores that know about ancients and they have all been legit so far. I am assuming it was a mistake on his part and not a betrayal. Thanks for the help. I am going to post a few more soon that I haven't checked yet.
