Yes, the America in Space (or Young Astronauts Program) series of medals was struck by the US Mint, but I left the medals off the list by design as I was limiting my response to the medals that the US Mint sold / distributed directly. I should have made this more clear in my original response.

In the case of the AIS medals, the US Mint struck them but then supplied them to their sponsor for sale / distribution. For the same reason, I left off the medals for the USS Constellation (1972), Jim Thorpe (1973) and others from the same time frame.

The AIS medals are certainly worthy of being added to one's collection - especially if you have an interest in space-related medals! I like the series very much and have at least one example of each medal of the series in my collection.

They all sound interesting, I just hope I remember what they are if
I run across any of them.
