One of my favorite notes: 1972 French 10 Francs showing the writer Voltaire. Note how the portrait on the reverse is a mirror image of that on the obverse, a feature of this note series:

This one is undated but checks out for 1971, they started with serial number 03C that year.

Very cool note NumisRob! I like how they depicted the "obverse" and the "reverse" of that mansion.

It's actually two different buildings. On the front, it's the Louvre in Paris, seen from the window of Voltaire's apartment on the Left Bank (which is now a restaurant). On the back, it's the Château de Cirey, where Voltaire lived with his mistress emilie du Châtelet for 15 years:

This note is one of my favourites, again without a date.
In 1970 they had a short run of these with Fforde as a signature but not many issued before the new cashier (Page) took over in March. Only 5 million were issued with the Fforde name.

1970 100 Pesetas from Spain, showing composer Manuel de Falla and the Generalife Gardens at the Alhambra in Granada. This was the last 100-peseta note issued for circulation: it was replaced by a coin in 1982.

Ah my mistake. That's very interesting, thanks for the link and the clarification!

1969 French 5 Francs showing Louis Pasteur: like the Voltaire 10F, the portrait on the back is a mirror image of that on the front. Worth about $1 at the time, these notes were issued alongside the 5-franc coin, which took over from them completely in the early 1970s. The white circle on the note (where the watermark is) is the same size as a 5-franc coin:
