Once again, I am greatly honoured by this (temporary) crown.

Inspired by an earlier winner, who posted a low grade 1972S cent, I am posting a low grade Canada $1, issue of 1935. A recent acquisition, it is a truly horrible note, but it is the only one I own and the price was right. Sorry that the image is a bit faded, but I didn't want to take it out of the plastic.

Yet-Another-Forum-Game---Numismatic-Go-Fish!

As far as I can see, it grades Good with 2 major defects: split into two, and tape residue, and 1 minor defect (pencil markings).

This round will be like golf: the worse your note, the higher the score!

Any note graded better than Fine gets no points. This is a contest for the embarrassing rags in your collection.

The scoring is as follows:
1. Equal or worse condition: 2 points. Better but no more than Fine: 1 point. However, the serial number has to be visible. For example, shredded bank notes do not count.
2. Denomination 1 dollar (any country) 2 points. Multiple units of dollars: 1 point
3. George V portrait: 2 points. Any other portrait of an English monarch other than QEII: 1 point
4. Bonus point: 7 digit serial number closest to this one. For serial #s with 8 digits, you can ignore the last digit.

In the case of a tie, the worst note will win.

Edit:
The round closes around 9 pm the 13th of November.

This one is still in one piece but falls in the "afraid to remove it from its holder" category for me (as you can see from the reflections) s.
Yet-Another-Forum-Game---Numismatic-Go-Fish!
It was my first and is still my only large US note. Like yours, the price was right.

Edit: It also features a portrait of a George

Picked this up for $1.60 US last week. Any love for the note being Canadian? Or proximity to year?

Guys, some excellent "awful" notes here.

Here are the standings so far:

1. BD251: It is very cheeky to imagine that your George qualifies as an English Monarch, although he was born an Englishman and was at least as illustrious. In any case, I would say that this is a 4 pointer, 2 for the grade and 2 for the denomination.
2. Arkie, 3 points: one for George VI, 1 for the denomination and 1 for the grade-I think that yours is definitely better than mine. Excellent price, face value. It would have cost you about $18 Can here.
3. Dorado, 4 points. Plus 1 point for the closest serial number, as long as that lasts.

Hmmm gonna have to pass on this round. I only have 2 notes. A 1909 Russia 10 Rubles, and a 1990 Yugoslavia 5,000,000 Dinars. I don't think either would score very high.

I've got a 50,000,000 dinara note so, it must be worth 10x yours!

Here's my worst entry. You may notice that 1/4 of it is missing and that it has been heavily circulated.

1978 Egypt 25 piastres
Serial #: 0479173

No British monarch unless you think the sphinx was modeled after someone who had yet to exist.

So, I think this is 3 points: 2 for condition and 1 for closest serial (currently).

My worse note, it's nearly in two. My dad carried this around in his wallet for years, god knows where he got it - he's been nowhere near Iraq, but kept it as a curiousity because of Saddam Hussein.

Hmm... I could post some not-so-good condition 1 dollar banknote for three points, but with some three pointers already posted, I would not win with that. So I shall go for the serial number bonus!

Here is a 25 ruble note from the Soviet Union, 1961:

So it was on this thread that someone pointed out I was just about to embark on my 3K post and so I've held off on posting anything until I could once again contribute on this thread.

This thread has to be my favourite on this whole site... it's so fun!

There's a few submissions not because I want to win the round.. just for your viewing pleasure really.. (this thread makes me feel like a kid during show and tell!)

Here's my worst '35 $1

Yet-Another-Forum-Game---Numismatic-Go-Fish!

Here's my worst '37 $1
-reason I have it.. .I got this one and a few others a couple years ago from the bank for the great price of $1

Yet-Another-Forum-Game---Numismatic-Go-Fish!

Here's a pretty bad $2 note .. I've kept it b/c it's an ABX replacement

Yet-Another-Forum-Game---Numismatic-Go-Fish!

Here's my worst $2 note... it's not worth anything more than $2 but I've kept it b/c of the prefix BUN.. (i like prefixes that make words)

Yet-Another-Forum-Game---Numismatic-Go-Fish!

And since I saw some others doing some notes from around the world I thought I would include this one... I bought this one off ebay a while ago... The shipping was probably worth more than the note.. but I liked b/c it has a dragon on it! Better was the burn mark right below it's mouth... it gave me a chuckle when I saw it and figured I've spent $5 in much worse ways.. and clicked "bid"

Yet-Another-Forum-Game---Numismatic-Go-Fish!

Hope you enjoyed the "show and tell"... and my 3K post...

Congratulations on the 3k post, AgCoinAu - that's a nice lot of notes!

Hopefully more points this time.

I found two of these crumpled up at the bottom of a large lot of coins I bought - thankfully the other was in better condition, so have a nice example and tatty example for the purpose of this game!

@dorado, this is now the worst note of all, much worse than mine. However, I cannot read the serial number on it. What is it?
