Nice harvest, MrPink!

I've picked around $25 the last two weeks.

Last year at this time you could have bought almost an ounce of silver with that. Not so much now.

but an above-average picking of a well-scattered $2.75, plus a 20oz. bottle of Aquafina
Excellent!

yep. I'm facing the same issue with silver now that I was facing with gold a couple years ago: takes too long to save up for. not sure how I want to handle this going forward, but I have ideas. it used to be that a monthly total easily handled an ounce or two of silver. now a monthly total is just a fraction of what's needed for just one ounce, so it's taking longer to save up for.

i watched a short interview with some bigshot CEO of a major bank saying- with a smile- that if the Fed doesn't get more independence, the stock market would punish 'the people', meaning us. wouldn't be the same bank getting a stealth bailout because of their short positions on metals (specifically silver), would it?

i digress. I'm going to cut this short and go eat my oatmeal.

end of month & year. 2025 is in the can. it ends on a good note. tonight I picked $1.56, all well-scattered change.

cycle 19 is active, running total $287.

2025 total- $887, $354 of that was cash:

$100 zero.
$50 x4
$20 x4
$10x 3
$5 x3
$1 x29

(i'll go over all the metals in another post.)

all of the other stuff that I was blessed with in 2025:

2 gallons, 1 liter, nineteen 16.9oz bottles and one 20oz bottle of water, numerous lighters, pack of chewing gum, cinnamon buns, cherry turnovers, a Trek road bike, Adidas sneakers, crescent wrench, bag of Taco Bell, Dominoes pizza & garlic knots, 7 beers, one small can of Coke, rice & beans, tire gauge, bag of ice, bag of fancy lettuce, four loaves of bread, package of Christmas tissue paper, eggs, soup, grapes, popcorn chicken, popcorn and Combos.

bring on 2026.

Well done Mr Pink!

During my vacation in South Africa, I've picked up quite a few SA 10-cent coins in parking lots and shopping malls. They are worth about half a US cent each. No doubt some shoppers just throw them away when given one in change, or others lose them because of their small size. I'm amazed at the number of 2025-dated 10c coins I've found!

ha! they were not street-grilled & pressed, no gravel or broken glass. they were fresh from the publix bakery (and they were yummy ).

very nice finds Rob!

Nice tally MrPink
I didn't find much this year, but I did find a 'C' Note in front of a Frys food Store in downtown Phoenix AZ just after I got done spending $100.00+ at the same store buying groceries.

Dearborn, that was fairly recently, wasn't it? a few weeks ago maybe? i'll have to scroll back a few pages...

the last 3 nights have been cooler than usual, lows around 60*, although no wind tonight, so it was still & damp & cool and I ended up with very cold hands by the end of the bike ride. regardless, 2026 starts off bangin' for me. I had just 3 roadrashed zincolns in my pocket and was considering riding on back to my place (because I was cold and I wanted to sit w/cat & a hot cup of Earl Grey) since I had fed all the cats and wasn't finding much coin when I checked the water machines outside Publix... the first coin return yielded nothing, but the next one:

Post-Your-Stories-&-Pix-Of-Found-Money

...sixteen quarters! $4! I love it when people don't take their change.

i continued on and gradually picked more coins. in fact, I picked another $1.43, for a total of $5.46 on the night. now that's a great start to 2026.

the end of 2025 wraps up 8 years for me doing this. today began the 9th year. it's also the beginning of my 9th year here on CCF.

after 8 years of pickin' cash & coins from the streets & parking lots and turning it all into metals, this is the accumulation so far:

Post-Your-Stories-&-Pix-Of-Found-Money

19 ounces of silver, 8 gold coins, nine 1g gold bars and one 1g bar of platinum.

my method of alchemy works. however, it still needs another year of study.

That is an amazing hoard you've built through alchemy, MrPink! Kitty Karma has rewarded you well for your dedication to our Feline Furmasters and your tenacity at keeping the streets of Key West clear of so much base metal litter. I also admire your documentation of your endeavors. Thank you for your 8 year effort and sharing it with us.
