...and looks like we have a cold front or two on the way. north winds, i'll be watching the magic corner for errant FRNs very soon. haven't found any so far in 2026.
where oh where is that pouch of benjamins? every benjamin is now a potential ounce of silver. gone are the days of 3-4-5 silver eagles per benjamin. cycle 4, way back in 2019, yielded four 2019 bullion ASEs. that was when I decided to start letting the street money turn into silver because I had determined that gold was taking too long to save up for. the same thing is now happening to silver.

the cauldron is now loaded, locked, set for 'surprise me' and cooking. it's gonna be a few days. more waiting, but worth the wait because free metal is worth waiting for. I'm finally unloading the remaining street cash & coins accumulated since the end of cycle 18 plus cycle 18's leftovers. edit, 19 minutes later: tonight marks the start of cycle 20.

cycle 20... 20!!! hard to believe, but it's true. hard to say if it will complete, given the state of things... economy, devaluing currency, rising cost of metals, etc....

yeah, me too... I'm stoked. to be able to add yet another round of free metals to the coffer is just fabulous. if I would have stopped a year ago like I was mulling over to do I would have missed out on $887. cycle 20 is starting off at $11. the Grand Running Total, since 2018: $4,726... all picked off the streets. if I have a good year i'll clear the $5K-mark at some point. I'm just doing what the bankers are doing: dumping paper (and base metal junk) for physical.

as it adds up, yes. people cannot seem to stop losing/tossing their coin & currency.
has the new round of stimulus checks gone out yet? I remember when the covid stimulus checks stopped. it was reflected in my dwindling nightly finds many moons ago. if stimulus checks go out as EBT cards I won't be picking up people's change as there just won't be any.

i had just fifty-three cents in my pocket when I rolled up to my favorite ice machine along the way home tonight. it's coin return yielded 19 quarters, $4.75: someone bailed on their change. this is one of my favorite things. cycle 20 is off to a great start. $5.28 on the night.
