That's certainly a wise move. Not much can be done about the paper separations, but at least it won't get any worse. After looking at this again, I find the vignette a bit curious. This looks like a Civil War era bond, but the soldiers depicted seem to have Revolutionary War uniforms. Report this Post to the Staff

What I think the reason is that the bond was approved by the Special Session of the legislature in May 1861 just a month after the war began and must have been hastily created and printed. If I go to North Carolina anytime I will bring it with me and and see what I can find in their archives. Report this Post to the Staff
