1998 Lincoln Penny, Error? - Coin Community Forum

hmabbitt07 New Member United States 29 Posts	Posted 09/14/2020 10:49 pm Hi, not sure if I'm posting in the correct place but I have been debating on this coin that I have not sure if it's a grease strike or damage after it left the mint or an actually error coin. So, it's a 1998 Lincoln Penny not sure if it has a mint mark cause the date is barely legible but I believe it may be a Close AM but the damage is to the obverse side of the coin, there's only a few letters you can make out such as WE & a few other letters but please any advise or thoughts would be greatly appreciated!! I almost forgot to mention how much shinier this penny is compared to other 1998 pennies I have. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you! Heather Report this Post to the Staff

It's a good example, certainly 2x2 worthy. Looks like a 1998 ( no mint mark). It has a Close AM which is normal for the year.
