Yeah, it stinks. I had to pay off over $12,000 in COVID-related debt and still working on it. But I'm trying to keep as many coins as possible!

19 day hospital stays in the ICU aren't cheap, even with health insurance (I had a 20% co-insurance and a maximum annual out of pocket of $15,000 which I hit)

I also sold my Washington registry set, some stacked circulated silver, my VF35 1806 Half Dollar, my MS63/CAC Indian $2.50, some slabbed Morgans, my AU58/CAC 1826 large cent, my AU50/CAC 1806 Half Cent, my PR64+ proof 1894 Barber Half, and some other random junk (raw AU details cleaned Trade dollar, rolls of circulated V nickels, a half roll of cull/damaged Seated dimes, etc). Was able to keep some of the non-set Washingtons mainly errors/varieties. The coin I posted above (1800) is so far the only one in this thread I've posted that I no longer own.

If I ever get a large disposable income again I might try to buy some of them back, I know where they went for the most part, mostly to other dealers within my dealer network (CCT)

Most importantly for you, I kept all my Ikes (6 brown box ikes, blue ikes, a roll of raw BU coins, 10 or 15 proof sets with Ikes, my double-clipped Ike, and a few slabbed Ikes.)

Been a while since I shared anything here. I had a coin for 1801 but forgot about it... also missed a few other 19th century dates. Ugh!

For 1798, I have half of a coin...

I've been told when I bought this (half of a) coin that it was likely intentionally halved to serve as a makeshift 1 kopek!
Not sure if that's true; there were certainly a lot of perfectly serviceable 1 kopeks minted at the time. But maybe not in the right area.

This coin was minted by the Anninsky (Annensky) mint, located in what is now the village of Anninsk, Perm Krai (pop 120 in 2010).
The mint was established in 1788 by Catherine II, and (apparently) started making coins in 1789. On January 5th, 1798, the mint was disestablished by order of Paul I; communication at the time being what it was, it probably took several more months before coins stopped being issued. This coin was likely struck after the disestablishment!


I have several other possible 18th century entries, but not a lot. I hadn't done enough photos of my collection back in Moscow to have anything resembling good coverage of the 18th century, or even the 19th. (The 20th isn't all that much better TBH.)
I'm hoping to get some new coins into the Israel edition of my collection, at least! Little luck so far, but things could always change. There are some coin stores in Tel Aviv and Haifa that I'm thinking of maybe visiting some day.

Unfortunately my coverage of the 17th, 16th and 15th centuries will remain very poor; those coins are very cumbersome to own in Israel (legal, but lots of paperwork required, and I doubt that local coin stores would have much in the right areas), so I don't except any new additions until/unless I end up moving to some other country (and/or back to Moscow).
