To the right is Popocatepetl (known as "the Smoking Mountain"), an active volcano, and to the left is Iztaccihuatl (known as "the White Woman), a dormant volcano.. I "had" to look it up! In the background on the reverse is seen a segment of the Alberta Rockies - a part of the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Canada also issued a 2005 25-cent coin with the same design (except for the denomination specification).
