@All: Thanks for the feedback on my 1925 Fort Vancouver Centennial Half Dollar - Go Mt. Hood! Time to turn attention to the 1928 Hawaiian (European) Discovery Sesquicentennial Half Dollar. Once again, the reverse is where the coin's volcano/mountain is found. Behind the Hawaiian Chieftan (Kamehameha I), on the reverse, is seen the volcanic cone of Diamond Head on O'ahu. Its peak is 762 feet above sea level.

@All: Thanks! Nice to hear you liked the Hawaiian! It's time now to go the the Exposition! The 1935-36 California-Pacific International Exposition to be exact! The US Congress authorized a commemorative half dollar for the Exposition; it was struck in 1935 and 1936 - the two active years of the Exposition. The coins obverse design is based on the California State Seal. Behind Minerva, the grizzly bear, "Eureka" shield and sailing ship is seen a segment of the Sierra Nevada mountain range.
