Here's another non-circulating legal tender (NCLT) commemorative piece from Canada. This one is part of the Exploring Canada series which includes ten $15 silver coins. The coin shown here is the "West Coast Exploration" installment of the series - it depicts British Explorer Captain George Vancouver. checking over a newly-created map while scanning the surveyed landscape that lies in front of him. Seen behind him are a uniformed member of his expedition along with a local First Nations male. The inclusion of an aboriginal figure in the design was meant to represent the contributions of many First Nations people to Vancouver's expedition - Vancouver was aided greatly by the sharing of much local geographic information by the region's inhabitants. In the far background is an unnamed mountain - the coin's entry ticket for this thread. For more on the coin, see: - 2014 Exploring Canada - West Coast Exploration
