It actually looks a bit better in person than I thought before. It's still touch and go for me but I certainly would have taken the gamble at 30.
I have seen actual contemporary forgeries of bean money trade for over 100 bucks.
This thing remains curious. I have emailed a friend of mine that specializes in Edo and will let you know if he has any additional information.
I will probably go to visit the BOJ on business in a few months and will ask the curator at the BOJ museum about it if I get a chance to stop by.

Thank you for taking the time and effort Manos, Its a mystery until solved:) If its silver I think they usually hade lowgrade silver in much of these, like 0,3-0,5. I hope your Edo friend have some clues
