Need to know which kind of photo you think works best. I'm experimenting and I know I don't have it figured out yet. Do any of these photos work, or am I still in "the dark". Zurie Pillar of the Community United States 5663 Posts	Posted 06/10/2024 5:43 pm A straight on photo (not tilted) will give you the best chance of keeping everything in focus. But you may need to adjust the lighting with your phone-only pic to optimize the color and luster. Report this Post to the Staff

DOCC Pillar of the Community United States 1502 Posts	Posted 06/10/2024 6:02 pm Straight on always best unless working with proofs - just my 2 Cents edit to add: My scope has 2 LEDs, I place one at a 90 about and inch above the coin, the other at a 45 4-6 inches above the coin. As Zurie noted, lighting is everything and it differs for each and every coin. I swing a metal detector and have a knack for finding dirty old coins.
