Quote: I'm not sure if this album was meant solely for storing 'mint' sets, but I used it to keep few of my proof sets from 1956 to 1965. They are all minted by the 'US Mint', so I think it's fine to keep them in this album. Very cool, bg! I like it! I think that album is an excellent way to store mint or proof sets for easy viewing. How do you insert the sets into the page? Are there still slides?

Quote: 7092 United States Mint Sets Impressive! I always wanted to see one of these in use. I agree that the Proof "Mint Sets" count.

Quote: How do you insert the sets into the page? Are there still slides? The slides in this album are similar to those in other albums. The cardboard is thick enough to house entire envelope. However, the proof sets envelopes were slightly larger than the space in the album, so I had to trim it to fit.

so I see what you did there, you put the envelope behind the cello package. very nice. I'm guessing that the pages were designed for the hard plastic cases though.. so my question is this: How thick are each page? how fat would an album be if it had 4 pages in it?

Well, I went looking for this 7092 album on ebay and found 5 of them being sold for $29 each (which is about $16 bucks cheaper than what The Dansco site would sell them at if they had any in stock - that is). I may use them for the current proof sets - 2 big holes on each page so I may use them to place the proof in one hole and the silver proof in the second hole on each page, then just label the top of each page with the year of minting for each page..

Quote: I was wondering how I could display all my mint sets My initial thought was that this album was designed for mint sets, with two slots on each page—one for each P and D mint. However, considering the number of mint sets issued, it's not practical to house all of those in this album.

Quote: you put the envelope behind the cello package No, I saved those brown envelopes separately. While taking photographs, I just used a white blank page behind each page.

Quote: I'm guessing that the pages were designed for the hard plastic cases though.. I measured the slot for one of those hard plastic proof sets. They are much smaller and the proof sets with hard plastic won't fit there - unless you take out the cardboard with coins inside plastic case and they can barely fit (something which I won't recommend for proof coins) Quote: How thick are each page? how fat would an album be if it had 4 pages in it? It's the same thickness as all other Dansco album pages. It's not meant for thick plastic cases.
