It's been a long, long time since I posted here but really felt I had to share this. Found a 1939 DDR nickel in the cash register at work tonight! Edit: As replied below, thank you for the move and here's a couple more photos as requested!    Edited by Dasaki

Welcome Back! Nice find! I know nobody really knows how many were struck, but I saw an estimate of "less than 150,000" once. I know my "old timer" LCS owner had never seen one when I showed him one that I had found in a box of nickels searched.

Thanks for moving the post, I didn't even think about a thread of its own. Still shocked I found one of these! I hope the obverse/reverse photos both here and added to the first post are enough to satisfy interest for the moment. I can try to get better ones when I'm able to use something more than just my phone camera! Edited by Dasaki

I watched an ebay auction for a PCGS slabbed '39 DDR graded F15 last week. Couldn't believe how much it finally went for. It's the big dog, people really love that DDR. |
