New Member From Mississippi

Thank you for having me. My name is Ed. I am 77 year's old and hope to soon be 78. I am from Greenville, Mississippi, in heart of the Mississippi Delta. I was raised approximately 50 miles from here in a little town called Drew, Mississippi. My father was a country doctor and my mother was a nurse and loving mother. I left Drew....went all over the county and became an ophthalmologist. I practiced medicine back in the delta for 45 years. Then retired. First of all I am not a numismatist....at least I wasn't until my wife of 55 years pulls out all these pennies , nickels , ect. she had saved over the years from my pocket change. So I started looking and instantly became hooked. We also had some coins her dad and my dad had left us. I'm a "newbie" at this coin thing. I have no one to talk coins with here so I appreciate you're allowing me to join this community. I do have an app I consult from time to time but it is not the same as another human being.
