No wonder why it takes people so long to put this together, cause it's expensive! Lol.
I started my Lincoln Whitman folder in 1980, moved it to the Dansco album in 1985. I still have two open holes in it.

I've decided I'm not giving up on my collection. I am, however, slowing down a bit. My OCD is getting the best of me, and ruining an enjoyable hobby for me. I have decided that I am going to look for affordable coins for now, in the best condition I can find.

After the end of the year, which I always have a ton of money via Christmas/Birthday, I plan on going on a shopping spree and picking up all the expensive semi key date coins in nice grades. Also need that darn 1970-S small date still. I will obtain this then.

In regards to the 1909-S, 1914-D and the 1931-S, key dates I had planned on getting eventually. I don't know what I will be doing about this. It's out of my budget at the current moment.

I recently purchased another #7100 album, which I found on ebay for a pretty good price considering it was basically brand new. Before shipping, it was around 30 bucks.
They are the same exact album. However, they appear slightly different, one by the slightly darker color in the album cover material. The plastic slides are also different.
They are like, one sided, so you can tell which side you are supposed to put in. Must be an older album, as Dansco doesn't do this now.

I was going to send this back initially, and get an album solely for Shield cents. But I figured, why? I ordered another blank cent page, and I will add all the Shield cents to that. Seems like kind of a waste since I got this entire album for the price of what it would cost for a Shield cent album new.

So, I plan on doing both albums. However, I won't really actively be filling in slots with the new #7100 album just yet. However, there are many ways I could go about it. It will be a bit tougher now since cent rolls are basically impossible to find.

I am also considering doing the Shield cent proofs as well.

So the first album, will be like this I figured:
Higher grade album, with proofs in the end via empty spots and blank pages
Second album:
Sort of an overflow album for extra cents, with Shield cents in the end via blank page

I think this will work perfectly fine for me.

Will do!

I also did this yesterday. I added my own twist of labels to the Shield cents in my secondary album.

So what I did was I printed all the dates using the word pad application on my computer. I then just simply cut them out, and taped them onto the page.

I am happy with how it turned out. However, I may need to re-do them in the future if I decide to put the Shield proof cents next to each corresponding date. I am not entirely sure if I will collect the Shield proofs, though. So until then, this will work fine.

I am waiting for my extra blank page, which will cover 2022-2025. I will do this with this one as well.
Should be here tomorrow.

Thanks, Dearborn.

I think what I am gonna do is keep the Shield proofs at the end of the new blank page, along with the other Shield cents. I will have them separated however.
The space in my main #7100 album that I am going to be using for proofs, will be basically entirely full of the Memorial cent proofs.
This will bring the album up to 9 pages, and I'm fairly certain it won't fit a 10th page.

So here is where the second 7100 album is at... These are basically all coins that I either had lying around or had duplicates of.

My plan is to upgrade cents eventually in the first album, specifically the wheat cents. That is, once I get the album complete.
The "lower grade" coins will go into this one.

I think that will make for an enjoyable side project.

So I think today, since I'm off after this for the rest of the week, I am going to call around and scope out at my credit union branches to see if they have any remaining cent rolls or if they can potentially order me a box or two of them.

Can't hurt to try!

Also, if worse comes to worse honestly, you can purchase full sets basically on ebay in Whitman folders of Memorial cents for under 20 dollars. Problem solved!

Thank you. I'll see how it goes.

If not, I may end up with some nickel and quarter rolls. Lol.

The annoying thing is not just not being able to acquire rolls, but the fact that with my credit union, you can't contact each branch individually. So basically, if I want to call and see if they have rolls on hand, I have to call their customer service line and they have to reach out to each branch themselves separately. But, I suppose this beats driving all over within a half hour radius just to find out that they don't have anything.

Thanks, jbuck.

I was looking on ebay today and slabbed coins and they had some really nice wheat cents. I'd love to buy some eventually.
I figured I'd share a few.
