Thanks, Seamonkey.

This huge batch of wheat cents has kind of rejuvenated my interest in the set again.

Thank you!

I also plan on acquiring all the semi key date coins very soon.
I can't believe the kind of money that the 1911-S goes for.

So far, I haven't really been able to find one in better shape for under 40 dollars. I don't want to jump on the first one that comes along.

Since they are key date coins, I want to acquire a few that are actually in nicer condition. I'm already gonna be spending the money, might as well pick some nicer ones.

Thank you!

I cannot wait to "complete" the album. However, the set will probably never be quite complete.
I will probably go back and see what coins I can upgrade, maybe add some proofs into the mix.
I do have several proofs ordered actually to "upgrade," some of the not so nice coins I have like the 1965
and the 1971-S. Pretty heavily circulated. I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a few of the older wheat
cent proofs as well. That won't be going too far back though, considering they seem to get pricey pretty quick.

I've also been looking for deals on ebay for the 1909-S and 31-S, mostly out of curiosity.
I also had a bizarre idea for the 1922 plain slot. Since it is a coin that I will never be able to afford,
and quite honestly, I don't think I want to anyways, there is the 1922-D weak variety.
I thought this might make a good accommodation in this spot, for much less money, for
basically something VERY similar.
But yeah, they aren't really cheap either from what I've seen! Sheesh! But, who knows. For now, I think I will leave it as is.

So... I did a thing. Lol.
My-Lincoln-Cent-Journey-In-A-Dansco-Album

I also received these today from ebay in the mail

Really beautiful coins

Also received this. 1965 SMS. Not too impressed with this one honestly. But I mean, for under 5 bucks.. I guess I'm not too bummed. My other SMS coins, the 66 and 67 are way nicer, though.

I think I have... a problem. Lol. The one in the middle is what my collection is in currently.

I don't know how I feel about this. I kind of feel like they don't really... Go well together, the business strike cents and proofs. Like, they are a different shade and it kind of bugs me.

I don't know if I will stick with the 8100 or not. I'll give it a little bit of time and thought before I do anything.

I didn't know you were getting the 8100 album. I like having a marked spot for my proofs.

Thanks, EV!

Seamonkey, I knew I would have some extra cash so I wanted to dig into the proofs.

I just wasn't sure if I wanted to add them into a specialized album like the 8100, or put them in a blank page at the end of my already existing album. Kind of like a trial and error scenario.

Those cents constantly go for high prices on ebay. You can get deals at auction houses sometimes but not on ebay unless the coins are damaged and worn.

jbuck, Dearborn, thanks!

Yeah, I know. That's why I haven't purchased them yet lol

I figured I could expect to spend a minimum of 100 each. From what I've seen in coin stores, they are even more. I've seen them go for upwards of 150, and that was for a raw, unslabbed coin.

Purchased this today from ebay: 1910-S.

I believe the grade was G/VG. For 20 bucks, I'll take it.
I think the seller might use stock photos, depending on the coin listing. But this is the same seller I just had the large order of cents from, and I didn't really have any issues. They were nice enough to include a bonus coin as well.

I think anymore than around 20 bucks and I'd prefer to see the actual coin I'm getting, as opposed to a stock photo.
Seller is Lincoln Pennies from Heaven. They seem to be quite good.
