A nice looking, no LCW Ugh. What would this be worth in this condition? Half of trends? 20% of trends? *** Edited by Staff to clarify the topic title. Please put as much info in the title as possible; they are crucial. ***

What a shame...
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

I guess back in the 1870 they had lots of these so to make a necklace out of one was no problem. To bad.

Mintage of 450,000. Wonder what the surviving population is?

Quote: Mintage of 450,000. But how many no LCW coins were minted? I wonder if a repair might make it a more eye appealing details coin?

It is a problem coin. I sell holed key dates at a pretty big discount, just to make them disappear. Otherwise, they are impossible to sell. Usually 15-25% of the catalogue price.

Pricey Victorian tragedy. I'm sure we all have one or two . Sadly, my 2x2 binder has an empty space where it would feel at home, next to another holed hole-filler.
