Quote: Keep looking! In that case, let's consider another category in numismatics for the purposes of the game. These are "challenge coins". So I see a coin from Middle Island in New York, but now I have trouble telling which of the two islands we are talking about? : Middle Island, Fire Department, challenge coin (two types)

Quote: Keep looking! I continued searching and discovered another Middle Island in the USA. Middle Island, Lightouse, tokens. But this is already in the state of Michigan: elondated pressed cent, Middle Island wooden nickel, penn-ohio, Middle Island ps. it is certainly curious when the names of different islands coincide. In my observations, almost every state has its own Coney Island, its own Long Island, and its own Rock Island, and often in each state there were such tokens for trading. And also Treasure Island. This is a topic for a special game..)

In the state of New York there is Long Island, and there is so much numismatics for it that a separate special catalog could be made. But if you look at other states, you can also find their own Long Island and tokens. For example, here is one from Long Island in Kansas and another from Long Island in Virginia:

Or for example Coney Island in New York. There are a large number of tokens and other numismatics specifically for this island. But on the other hand, if we look at all the other states, we will find many islands with the same name in different states and tokens for them: Coney Island in Arizona & Oklahoma states, tokens

Or let's say we're looking for "Rock Island" tokens and we find them in many different states. For example, in the state of Arkansas or Idaho: Rock island, tokens

Quote: But then I noticed that there is a third island, Mid Island. The map shows Staten Island on one side and Long Island in New York on the other. So this is another fake island?:
Mid Island, TV Service, 10¢, token The address is given, but it shows either on Staten Island or on Long Island. Not the name of an island, but the name of a location on an island (like "midtown" for a place in the middle of a city). Some subtleties in American language usage that can be confusing.

These are just businesses that have decided to use Coney Island in their name. Nothing to do with being on an island. So there was a bar in the Oklahoma Territory called The Coney Island Bar, etc.

Quote: Rock Island is also in Illinois. It is a city, a county, and an island in the Mississippi river (although its name has changed). I do not have any items from there, but here are two previous topics with an example of a medal. I am sure some tokens exist. You are right, there are about a hundred different types of tokens for Rock Island Illinois, and separately for Rock Island Arsenal island there are also a dozen types of tokens. Here is an old bi-metallic one token:

Quote: Non, no, no . Nothing to do with being on an island. This is just chaos and deception. Where there is no island, it is written that it is an "island". And where there is a real island, it is never written that it is an island. Like in the state of Louisiana. I have collected a dozen and a half tokens for the island of Avoca, but it is never mentioned that it is on an island: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avoca_IslandAvoca island, Louisiana, 25¢, token: Avoca island, Louisiana, 1¢, token:

Of additional interest are the old bi-metallic tokens. This turns out to be an old invention. Like this token from Oklahoma state: Rock Island, Oklahoma 5¢ token
