oriole Pillar of the Community Canada 5239 Posts	Posted 11/25/2025 12:16 pm This is #4 of 6 in a group of unidentified coins I got a a recent coin show. So far, all have been Indian, mostly princely states. This weighs 4.5 grams and has a diameter of 17 mm. There is not much to go on. A cross with dots on one side, and a sort of hook on the other. There was a passing resemblance to some coins from Portuguese India, but nothing that matched. Report this Post to the Staff

jecz79 Pillar of the Community Portugal 655 Posts	Posted 12/09/2025 2:02 pm The reverse could be a bazaruco of king Sebastião, but the obverse had to be an S. Not a 3. Perhaps a local copy with modified design? I can not identify it but the cross marks it as connected with Portuguese India. If you ever want to part with it talk to me. Worthy of future research. oriole Pillar of the Community Canada 5239 Posts	Posted 12/10/2025 7:21 pm @jecz79, after studying the images, one side seems a very good match for a Bazaruco, of Sebastião, as does the weight, but the other side does not match. Unless whoever made the dies put a 3 not an S on the coin. Maybe that is not so strange given that the issues were very crudely done. Report this Post to the Staff
