A friend said one of his work colleagues at a petrol station accepted two fake $100 banknotes as real. Workers in a hurry don't look at holograms.
I rarely gamble, but have noticed the workers at casinos now carefully examine every $50 and $100 note. They're much slower to hand over chips than usual. Amusingly, on my last visit I had a spare $5 centenary of federation note. The young cashier look at it and didn't know what to do with it. He had to find someone more senior to confirm it's real. I wonder what they would do if I'd rock up with paper $100 notes.
