Hi all,

I understand NTC being at the "bottom" of the TPG co's, but whatever became of them and how are any of there "later" graded submissions holding up in the market today....and yes, I do buy the coin and not the slab. thanks so much for your insight

LOL---I think you just answered my question-lol, but NTC I believe was "Numistrust Corporation", maybe about 20 years ago....--I think I read somewhere, they had evolved into NGC, but not sure of that...thanks to all

Actually, they are not defunct, or maybe they are again.

The original owner became ill and sold the business to their then chief grader. The business was reconstituted as NTC II, "The New NTC". Switched to a yellow label (but there was overlap with the greens and hologram sticker).

Quote:
All coin graded by the New NTC starting May1, 2013 bearing the new NTC hologram on the back on the holder can be searched and verified on the NTC certification search on the home page.

NTC Holders that do not have the new green NTC Green globe hologram on the back of the holder can not be searched through our database. We do not have the records from the previous company to verify these holders.

Then there is a 3rd owner in what appears to be the 2016 timeframe.

Finally, their address was recently updated (at the beginning of 2026) to the same address as that of Gold Standard Auctions in Dallas.

Also, there are a large # of 3rd tier auctions selling basement slabs with mysterious grader names that all use the NTC (Numistrust) Slab. A couple of web pages say they will slab coins for a fee with anything you want - you supply the coins and labels, they (whomever they are) supply the shells and slabbing.
