Yeah the pics from my old USB microscope were much better but you are right Igwt79, great link btw, about a 3rd of the way down the page shows a 1997 P dime which is a perfect match. This is what makes this forum so great, people taking the time to share their knowledge. Thank you!

I agree that this specimen exhibits a collar clash, but I don't believe that it was struck using misaligned dies. Rather, I believe that the thick rim at the top of the coin is an example of an inadequate upset error, which is extremely common on 1985 dimes.
