I was at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center in the mid-1970s and picked up these tokens. I'm not sure what they were used for; one internet post says they were movie tokens, and I can believe that. But even back then, I liked to keep unique coin items around, so I've had these stashed away.

Has anyone seen similar tokens from other military bases?

These kinds of "mess hall tokens" were very popular in the US military in the 1970s, both in foreign deployments and at home bases. It's my understanding that they had various uses including as canteen currency but a common use, especially for tokens with no face value noted on them, was for pinball/arcade/amusement machines.
