I've started the process of divesting most of my items in preparation for retirement in the near future. I would be happy to offer some things here in the buy/sell forum but wasn't sure if there would be interest in some of the more specialized items. I have a good number of So-Called Dollars, Hard Times Tokens, and assorted medals. Do you think there may be sufficient interest in these types of items? I could put them up and see what happens, but I don't want to spend a lot of time photographing things that would probably not be of interest to very many people.

I have a box full of stuff that will be headed to Great Collections in the next couple of weeks and I've been in touch with a friend who operates a local auction house with online presence. I will probably send him a pile of stuff. There will still be a LOT of items after I make these two contacts. I will likely be putting some regular coins for sale as the weeks and months go by.

Would a list be too much trouble?

Very interesting to see someone liquidating their collection! Good luck with the sales, and with finding good homes for all your treasures.

Rather than photo stuff individually, you could just snap pictures of many items at once. People could ask for specifics if they were interested in what they see.

Interest would probably be generated with general group photos and perhaps a rough list as already suggested.

Members can then send you interest emails.

I am selling everything, too, but I'm doing it through dealers and a local coin club. The pricey stuff I take to local coin shows and find a dealer or two, the smaller stuff I take to the local coin club auction. No postage, no sellers fee, and all cash transactions. I have been very happy with the results, so far.

The most recent talk at my local coin club was on Hard Times Tokens. You might check around for local clubs and go to a meeting or two, if there is one in your area. You might just find a kindred spirit in a buying mood. Good luck!
