After looking at examples on PCGS , it seems some of them have a faint FG still slightly visible. Does anyone know the level of weak FG they will accept as a FS-901 ? Thanks in advance for any information.

My understanding:
There can be absolutely no trace of FG to be considered FS-901

I completely agree and standards for variety should be strict . But you can find the 3rd example on PCGS price guide under #415500 MS65RD FS-901. Am I wrong to call this out ? Looks like a very WEAK FG. Thanks in advance for your time and any information shared.

to CCF.
It would be nice if you were to provide links to the research you did for this.

Now I need to go do my own to see if there is a match.

This variety is caused by an over polished die, did you check to see if the roof is floating or not?

It's still there, but barely. These are super common. It's caused by an over polished die.

PCGS graded example
I can see the FG and the roof attached on the right side of the memorial.

Even PCSG makes mistakes sometimes.
The FS-901 designation is for no FG, doesn't actually include the "floating roof"

You are correct on that. I was just curious if it was - a lot of times when the FG is erased, so are the uprights of the roof is too.
