Seems like this style of Dryer Coin doesn't have the exaggerated rims, so a slightly different mechanism of damage, but we see plenty of these posted too. Good detective work @igw! "If you climb a good tree, you get a push."

Great work, igwt79! We see many coins with this same pattern of PMD here on the CCF, and I've seen more than my share IRL. Thanks to your detective work, we now know the cause! Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

Different size coins wear down and display different types of damage (smaller coins like dimes appear more like Dryer Coins). Additionally, length of time spent in washing machine groove prior to extraction produces different wear patterns. I can post more examples for reference as I find them. Thanks all. Edited by igwt79

I've had one stuck somewhere inside the drum of my drier for like 10 years. I'd have to pull off the drum and on perfectly good drier - no Bueno. So listen to the music, clink, clink, clink. LOL
