Post An Ike (Eisenhower Dollar)

I looked back a few pages to get caught up and I did not see my latest Ike;

"Friendly Eagle" FS-901 Type 1 Reverse RDV-006

So, how'd they grade, jbuck?

As stated in the grading section, that is one pretty FEV, oih82w8. I can see the REV too, so we know it's a VEDS specimen. Love it!

I did a search for newly listed 1971-D Ikes the other morning, and this one was the first to show up in the list. I took one look at the TrueView photo, and I immediately bought it. From the seller photos it appeared to possibly be another proof planchet specimen. Here's the link:

Now that I have it in hand, I'm on the fence. It does have that glossy appearance, although not as star bright and shiny as my other examples. Just not sure. It's a very nice piece, well-struck and very deserving of the grade. Adding to the hoard......

- I knew your user name seemed familiar!. LOL. Thanks for your kind words regarding the photo. This particular slab image is what I call my glamour shot. Basically, I combine the TrueView image with my shot of the slab. Normally the coins in my slab photos are just too dark and details are all but muted, while the plastic looks clear and sharp. It has everything to do with how I light slabs, and I can't use direct light for obvious reasons. This time I applied some color correction to the coin to match its in-hand look, which is more white.
