Picked this up at a coin shop in Laramie. My first coin purchase in a couple years. Paid too much, but I never got a 76 out of circulation and it's silver! Plus the guy was really nice. We first saw him outside his shop and asked where a good burger was in Laramie. His recommendation was excellent so we stopped in his shop after lunch, because my brother is into old pocket watches. The guy yakked with him for 10-15 minutes, very knowledgeable about watches, while I browsed the coins.  My brother asked for a business card as we were leaving, so he handed him a regular card. Then to my daughters, he said, would you like my other business card? I said, sure, so he pulled a tube out and handed them each one of these.  |

I've been waiting to see these, jbuck, after hearing you had a couple on the way. I can see the fabulous luster in the pics, but I'll take your word that they're even better looking in hand. Congrats on adding these two to your family.  |

I recently acquired a second Nightcrawler DIVa. This one also came from Brian Vaile of the Ike Group. It is an upgrade to my previous 67DCAM, but this new one (68CAM) does not have the additional struck-thru error present. So, the 67DCAM specimen retains its unique status as the only known struck-thru fiber/thread inclusion Nightcrawler. The "nightcrawler" itself is a hubbed-thru debris artifact. I've included a comparison photo below. This is my favorite Ike variety for sure, and there aren't many around. Last time I checked I believe there were approximately 20 known examples. Well, I just added a pretty nice upgrade to the registry set: 1971 PCGS MS65+. This puppy is rare in MS65+ (Pop = 9), but there are still 97 in higher grades of MS66/+. It's unlikely that I'll ever upgrade to 66, but you never know. I absolutely love the rustic toning on the obverse and the "smoky" appearance of the reverse. What a handsome Ike!   |
