Sorry for the poor quality photos , I picked up this complete Eisenhower Dansco set last weekend for $120 (impulse buy)! They all look very nice except the 77D but I have one to replace it with. Was this a good buy?

Ccobb, even though it was an impulse buy, it's still a great purchase! Definitely a good deal in my opinion!

Thank you E&V, I really like Ikes! I wish I knew about the varieties to look for on them!

It was a good deal for $120. You got the entire set PLUS the Dansco album.

A dramatic example of a 1971-D Ike struck on a proof planchet. In direct light, the coin presents as an even, stark white GEM, and the bust appears more glossy than the fields. With diffused light, the semi reverse proof-like look comes out. I've had this coin for a bit, but just got it under the Canon last week. Seller snap-shot photos also provided for an in-hand look. It's an odd but gorgeous duck.

No, it is what Dan Carr is making at Moonlight Mint with Eisenhower 40% Silver dollars now. I wish I could have got the 1970 and 1975 Eisenhower overstrikes he made. I think they are cool albeit fantasy coins.

@Happy - great looking piece. One of the best things I ever did was get the 70 and 75 Ikes when he made them. So hard to find nowadays.
