sucks to hear, brad! there's outta be something wrong with Brinks Dimes, it's like their pulling all those silvers out like their halves everyones staying away from. Besides, many tellers who have Brinks Dimes constantly separate rolls that have white edges. One time, I requested some dimes from a teller only to hear that she'd pulled out 2 Mercs in a single box. Heck, I never even see Canadian dimes in Brink rolls anymore, and am sure the tellers are separating them. So, String rolls are definitely the best way to go for now, and string halves.

Thanks for the welcome!
I love being able to go through coins at work... It even out the nasty customers in my book. When we're dead at night the cashiers let me look through their coins too. Several think I'm a dork for going through coins but they all "humor" me. The hardest part is having rolled coin that we have to give to the cashiers for change and not being able to go through all of them :-/ I want to see whats inside!

silverdollar, thats rough going around without a car I can picture you with a large backpack everyone thinking youre going on a hike or mountain climbing - and in reality just dragging coins on your back to return ! haha

Dont you ask for unopened boxes silverdollar2011? I know what you mean though. Finds are getting tougher. I'm thinking about switching to string & sons. Fistfullofdirt seems to be doing better with them!

I did another box of dimes this weekend and scored another 1964-P. It seems like I get 1 find per box.

Hello, I did my first real dime roll searching. Started out buying $50 rolled from my dump bank. Found a 64 and a canadian (maybe 78). So I bought a box the next time I went to dump and found a really nice 1946 Dime in AU condition. Its pretty fun but a big adjustment from looking at big half dollars. I searched every coin but I'm not sure that its worth it. Pretty much just looking for the no mint mark 1980 and any glaring errors. Do you guys think its worth going through every penny? Okie

thank for the replies, and nice finds lenny!, that old pfennig coin is sooo cool! that's an uber roll with godly powers there. @monks, yeahhh it kinda sucks but it isn't really that heavy and immobilizing, I just keep it under 30 pounds and I don't feel quite anything! One time I bought a full box of halves and well that slowed me down a bit there haha. @mdj thanks for the reply bro, I'm about to buy a box of string rolls today and see how that turns out! Then after that, I'm heading to the coin shop to buy a Mexican 5 Peso Silver coin :D (those are so pwrettty) lol.
Anyways, good luck to all of you guys hunting! Take care! :D

i have only been doing this for a few months.i started out buying boxes. I would average one or two silvers per box.then I started going to small banks and buy 250 dollars worth of hand rolled dimes.i average 5 silvers per 250 dollars.a lot of the small banks where I live dont even have boxes.PS a lot of the tellers at these small banks will look at you like your crazy when you ask for 250 dollars worth of dimes.

I'm still sick to my stomach about the $800 in CWR's of dimes that got stolen out of my car a week ago. What kills me is how much silver I lost out on, I am averaging 1 silver dime for ever $200 in CWR's search.
