Found a nice '64 silver dime in a tiny $30 of bank-wrapped dime rolls today. Almost didn't notice it-- I was mainly looking for 2009 nickels and dimes! I don't roll-search all that much, but I've been finding a silver dime every few dozen rolls. Not enough to be profitable, but enough to be enjoyable. :)

Got out hunting today with hopes again that I'd get enough Ag to at least pay for gas. I bought two $500 bags of cw rolls from 2 of my branches. Also picked up $220 cw halves.
Went through the dimes in about an hour.
One dime roll held 12, one had 10, another held 4 silvers.
Ended up with a total of 34, including a '55 and '60 Canadian.
The halves gave up 6-40's (one roll), and 1-90,1-40, in another.
Needless to say, I was suprised. In three years I have never found a solid dime roll, but have found multiple silver rolls

I went through 2 boxes today, and got 4 silver Rosies, 4 junk Canadian, and a 1996 clad dime with a W mintmark.

Did this come out of a set? I was reading the W is for West Point.

The answers are yes and yes.

The 1996W was issued in Mint Sets according to my RedBook. There was one on the CCF auction that sold for $16.00 a few days ago.

Hey Mercrazy I am from the Philly area too. I know a teller that found $6.5 in silver halves in a box, some liberties in there too.
I haven't picked one up lately, maybe I will grab one today.
I am near K of P. how about you?

Is finding a Merc in CWR a fairly common occurrence?

silver,

not really. i'd say 1 for every 2-3 thousand in dimes. that's probably a slightly optimistic figure, to boot.

also: 200.00 more in CWR---> 1 1942 merc and 2 1964s
