Let me switch over to 1837 for a bit.

Wow Zeewool I think you might need to add a 1837 or two to the collection to even it out

It appears that you have quite the bust half collection!

Right now I just have the two coins for my type set but would like to chase after the bust halves after I finish that set. What reference books would you recommend for a budding capped bust half enthusiast like myself?

I do have a few more, but picture posting has gotten to be more of a chore than fun, so I am done.

As far as reference books on CBH, it would seem that the 'bibles' are (for the reeded edge-"Variety Identification Manual For US Reeded Edge Half Dollars 1836 to 1839" by Jules Reiver), and (for the lettered edge-"US Early Half Dollar Die Varieties 1794-1836" by Al Overton). I cannot really recommend either or any other books as these are the only two that I have read, and both leave a lot to be desired (in my opinion).

I find the draped bust halves more interesting, and I have quite a few of them. Here are a very few circulated examples that I read were allowed in this thread.

1807 O-101

Maybe next time, we will do early dollars (I've got some of those as well)

Nice coins Moe. I sure like the looks of that '14 O101A, especially ripples above 50C on the reverse.
